Our hoozat application is based on patent-pending technology developed by TechoShark, Inc.  We're a startup company founded by a professor and graduate students from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The team received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovations Research (SBIR) Phase I Grant to pursue development of our mobile social networking platform via our company TechoShark, Inc. The team has introduced its innovative technology by launching the hoozat application for the iPhone, available on Apple's iTunes App Store.

Our application's goal is to facilitate people meeting and connecting with one another in social gatherings.  hoozat provides new mobile social networking technology so that the people can more easily introduce themselves and establish new relationships.  hoozat helps online social networks tie into real environments based on the location capabilities of today's mobile smart phones.

Our application protects users' privacy by providing multiple layers of privacy controls.  We preserve the existing privacy guarantees of social networks like Facebook.  Further, we provide controls within hoozat that allow users to opt out of our system by pausing the application, logging out, or exiting the application.
